A letter to our constituents
It has been the honor of my life to serve as your District 2 Councilperson.
Together, we have delivered real results—repairing streets, sidewalks, and driveways, trimming trees, modernizing our neighborhoods, and enhancing the quality of life for all our residents. By working side by side with community members, local businesses, and City staff, we have made District 2 stronger than ever.
Today, Inglewood is a world-class destination city—driving new investment, creating quality local jobs, and strengthening our city’s economy.
However, our work is not finished. We must keep fighting for safer neighborhoods, more affordable housing, expanded economic opportunities, and the responsive, accountable leadership our community deserves.
Let’s continue building on our momentum and ensure every resident benefits from Inglewood's bright future. Respectfully, I ask for your vote for Inglewood City Council by November 3rd so we can keep moving our district forward.

A life of service

— Councilman PadillaAlex Padilla has called Inglewood home for more than 40 years. He and his wife, Stella, raised their three children here and are now proud grandparents.
Alex brings decades of public-safety leadership to City Hall. His career includes 30 years with the Santa Monica Police Department, where he retired as a Captain, and service as a Special Investigator with the Los Angeles Police Commission's Office of the Inspector General.
Alex earned a bachelor's degree in Business Management from the University of Redlands. He remains deeply engaged in the community he calls home, currently serving with the Inglewood Rotary Club, the City of Champions Lions Club, Knights of Columbus, and One-for-All (OFA), in addition to his longstanding work with organizations like the Salvation Army and the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life.

A plan to keep Inglewood safe, strong, and full of opportunity as our city grows.
Continue to advocate for common-sense initiatives that strengthen collaboration between law enforcement, local neighborhood watch groups, and business associations to build mutual trust, address neighborhood safety concerns, and improve real-time communication.
Partner with local public works and community outreach teams to coordinate 24/48-hour notices for site cleanups while connecting those in need with emergency shelter and social services.
Provide the necessary programs our seniors and youth deserve to enhance the lives of our most vulnerable residents: computer training, mental and physical health screening, and job training programs.
Quality education is not a privilege; it is a right. Collaborate with our school district to ensure the educational needs and safety of our children are provided.
Advocate for more responsible economic development to support our local businesses and create more local job opportunities.
